Social Media is a computer-based technology which makes easy to sharing information, ideas and the improving of virtual networks and communities. Social Media is an internet based and offers to share personal information such as videos and photos. The early arrival of social networking sites in 2000, online platforms have expanded exponentially. The popular names in social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat.
Social Media privacy is the thing we all value and it has taken previously private chats from offline to online. Most people don’t trust online social sites Facebook, twitter etc. Facebook has improved its privacy but the situation shows that 60-70% users of Facebook do not understand this. Today, internet users have less control over their personal information as compare to previous. Social Networks like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram plays a major role in our day to day lives and they also could create serious privacy risks.
Nowadays, hackers steal social media networks and looking for users and then it gives the hacker information about the user like password they use on social media and other online accounts. One of the common techniques is to click on the “forgot password” and then recover it through email.
Tips for protecting social media privacy:- Create strong passwords then it will be difficult to guess. Also include the special characters, such as symbols, numbers and capital letters and do not use common passwords as it is easier to guess. Review your social media profiles and pay close attention to each profile and let’s protect sensitive details. Some social media sites like Facebook gives you the opportunity of restricting access to certain friends, family members and colleagues.
